Hanson’s commitment to environmental protection gives something back to the communities within which the company operates and ensures positive long-term impacts are sustained.
Hanson has also provided Coastcare groups around the country with Coastcare Trailers, fully equipped with a range of tools to assist with work on coastal protection and repair projects.
In 2005/2006 Hanson has provided funding for a variety of Coastcare initiatives:
-A Surf Club education program - "Caring for our Coast" - throughout the northern beaches of Sydney, and the development of interpretative signage for these Clubs
-The Sydney Coastal Council's "Summer Activities" program, which promotes community awareness of, and appreciation for, the coastal environment
-The National Parks Association’s “CoastKeepers” program, which charts marine species and seasonal changes in and around Sydney Harbour
-The Warrnambool Coastcare/Landcare Group’s “South-West Environmental Awareness” program, in Victoria
-The Marine Discovery Centre's "Community Education and Interpretative Signage" program, at Henley Beach in SA.
